CCool Mountain Launches Honey-Frosted™ Summer Beverages With Honey-Frosted Lemonade

New Flavor Targeted at Rapidly-Growing Category

DES PLAINES, IL (June 25, 2001) - Cool Mountain Beverages, Inc. has introduced a sparkling new flavor- Honey-Frosted Lemonade- as the first of its new specialty Honey- Frosted line of summer Cool Mountain Gourmet Sodas. The Honey Frosted sodas are citrus-based flavors that use real honey in their formulation for a distinctive yet subtle sweetness. They feature a newly designed label that differentiates them from the classic Cool Mountain sodas, but carries through strong brand imaging. "We believe the vigorous growth of the alco-pops and hard lemonades indicates strong potential for citrus-based flavors in the super premium gourmet soda sector," says Bill Daker, President and CEO of Cool Mountain. "We were fortunate enough to acquire a classic formula for blending honey into our citrus flavors, and the results were so outstanding that we felt the beverages merited a special branding of their own-thus the new Honey-Frosted label." Cool Mountain Honey-Frosted Lemonade is a refreshing, slightly sweet, carbonated beverage with a crisp lemony taste that carries a hint of pure golden honey. The flavor is currently positioned for summer sales only. According to Daker, initial response to its introduction has well-exceeded company expectations. Honey-Frosted Lemonade will be the only Honey-Frosted flavor introduced this year by Cool Mountain, but plans are for it to be joined by new Honey-Frosted flavors including tangerine, mandarin, and kiwi.
